The Kasbah Resort features 19 luxury resort tents identical in style, each set on a raised concrete plinth. They echo the rich Moghul travelling tents of bygone days with ‘rooms’ separated by cotton drapes. Constructed of canvas and supported by a steel frame, with interior walls and ceilings draped in fine cotton, each tent measures 392 sq. ft. Entry is through a screened area that contains an armchair, table and chairs. The centre of the tent, with its soaring six-metre canopy, features an oversized daybed ideal for lounging.
Opening out from the central area are three sections for sleeping, bathing and dressing. Overall tent is 14x28 sq. ft. in area which comprises of 7x14 sq. ft. of Verandhah, 14x14 sq. ft. bedroom, 7x7 sq. ft. dressing and 7x7 sq. ft. of washrooms or toilets. The bedroom area is fitted with a king-size bed flanked by a writing desk. The dressing area contains cupboards with closet space and vanities whilst the bathing area has all mod cons like hair-dryers, bathtubs have been avoided in an effort to conserve water. Each tent is air-conditioned and can also be heated depending on the season and time of day.
The interiors are contemporary, and the feel of royal moghul culture is brought in by beautiful pieces of artefacts. All furniture is made up of old hardwood and bears the legacy of a bygone era when elaborate tents were used by royalty during hunting expeditions.
